The Shelter Island Lions Club normally meets at 6:00 p.m. for dinner on the third Thursday of every month, except July and August. Details to be published below, as soon as they’re announced. 

Meetings of the officers and directors (Board meetings) are held on the second Thursday of every month at 5:00 p.m. in the Shelter Island School Board Room.  All members are welcome to attend Board meetings.

CLUB EVENTS

• CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER. “September Sweep” Fall Roadside & Beach Cleanup:  Saturday, September 26, 2026.  9:30 am to noon.  Meet at Community Center.  Gloves, hi-his reflective vests, pickers and trash bags will be provided. Walk any neighborhood or favorite beach, pick up trash and bring it to a dumpster at the Community Center.  Stay Safe!  Walk facing traffic on main roads.  Designate someone to watch for oncoming cars.  Donuts and coffee to be available.

• October Board Meeting:  Thursday, October 8, 2026, 5:00 pm, School Conference Room.

• Community Prime Rib Dinner:  Sunday, October 11, 2026, 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Heights Firehouse. $50 pp adults. $25 pp under 12. Proceeds to support 7th & 8th grade student trip to EPCOT.
  Menu: Tossed Salad, Dinner Rolls, Prime Rib, Baked Potato, Fresh Vegetables, Cherry Cheese Cake, Soft Drinks, Coffee. [Broccoli-stuffed chicken breast for those who may have a meat allergy.] Tickets now available at SI Public Library, SI School,  and through this website.
